Welcome

At this point, Readers-Mine, you are -- at best -- theoretical, but welcome nonetheless to my blog Temple Yan’an. I’m using the pen-name Solomon Mao here, because I’ve used it as an online pseudonym off and on for many years, I still think it’s a cool name, and because I find that admitting to a bit of pretentiousness right up front saves a lot of trouble down the road.

What’s that road going to look like?

Well, you’ll know as soon as I do.

I’m no kind of expert – in anything. I have lots of interests, a few passions, a great deal of ignorance, several truckloads of opinions, a dash of real knowledge, and maybe just a little wisdom (which was generally acquired the hard way and is rarely evident). I have recently begun to learn how to learn, and Temple Yan’an will undoubtedly be a part of that process.

Therefore, I begin by begging your indulgence and your patience. I shall try to be worthy of both.
